Martin Nievera

Martin Ramon Nievera is the ”Martin Nievera” in the singing industry as the “Concert King”. He is a singer, a songwriter and an actor. He also engages in producing. Martin does not only focuses on OPM songs but ranging from Gospel to Pop and Dance Music. He is active in singing career from year 1982 up to now.

Martin was born in Manila, Philippines on February 5, 1962. His father is Bert Nievera and her mother was named Conchita Razon. He had her twin sister named Vicky. He lived with his father who sang for the group S.O.S or A Society of Seven. He stayed in Hawaii until 1982.

Just like his father, Martin inherited and was inspired by the talent of his father. He returned to Philippines in 1982 and started his singing career. On June 1982, he released his first LP entitled Martin…Take One. The album reached platinum status just within five months. He hosted “Penthouse Live!” together with Pops Fernandez. Eventually, the pair got married and had two sons, Ram and Robin. Penthouse Live! was changed to “Martin and Pops Twogether” on 1987 in celebration of their wedding. But afterwards, they were separated. Though he wanted to win her back but he did not succeed.

All his albums were a sold-out and so with his concerts thus garnering him as Concert King in Philippine Concert Scenery. His concerts does not remain here in Philippines but ventured out to different countries as Sydney, Chicago, California, Hawaii etc.

He wrote and recorded song, “Forever” for the purpose of reuniting and winning again the heart of his wife but of no success. But the public accepted the song and become the best-selling music collection. “Forever Forever” and “Return to Forever” are platinum albums of their splitting. Several albums were released by him and of different labels. Some reached Gold Status, a Platinum Status to Triple Platinum Status.

Martin is also a good actor and even appeared in eleven movies as the lead role and seven television series and specials. He hosted several shows from Penthouse Live! to different beauty pageants, awards nights and entertainment shows. He co-hosted ASAP together with Pops Fernandez, Ariel Rivera and Dayanara Torres.

Martin is now living in Las Vegas, Nevada with Katrina Ojeda and his son by her, Santino. He held his 25th anniversary concert on September 14 & 15, 2007 in Makati. He is also appearing in Society of Seven in Hawaii together with Lani Misalucha at Flamingo Las Vegas.
